Dust Underfoot? It’s More Like Sandpaper

SANDPAPERThose who care for high quality wooden gym floors clean those floors every day, even if the court has not been used.

The reason is dust.  While we may think of dust as being soft and almost fluffy, the truth is that dust contains a lot of grit, and that grit under a shoe effects the floor like sandpaper.

Dust settles on the floor overnight and removing it first thing in the morning can make your floor finish last much longer.

Buildings with older HVAC systems and poor filtering can increase the dust factor, as can open open windows and doors.

In addition to removing the dust, mats at all doors and other gym entrances can help remove grit before it makes it to the floor.
