Tape Won’t Stick-This Might Be Why

MOPSometimes we get calls from customers who have successfully used paper floor tape for years for marking their gym floor courts, only to discover that the tape will no longer stick.

The first thing we recommend they do is to examine how their floor is being cleaned. It is not uncommon for gym floor staff to change to a new cleaning chemical and not share that information with whomever does the floor layout.

Cleaning fluids that contain even light solvents can cause the floor to reject tape adhesive, especially if the cleaning product is not completely removed when the process is finished.

In order to remove any residue that might cause tape to not stick properly, damp mop it with a mild detergent and then carefully follow up with a water only mopping.
